Terms and conditions
Last updated 1 October 2026
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using Okanora in any way — including Guest mode — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Okanora. By using the app, you're confirming that you meet this requirement.
2. What Okanora is
Okanora is a personal budgeting checklist app. It helps you track recurring bills, income, expenses and savings goals that you enter yourself. It is a personal organizing tool, not a bank, a payment service, or a financial institution.
3. Accounts, guest mode, and keeping your login safe
You can use Okanora by signing in with an email code, signing in with Google, or without signing in at all (Guest mode). If you use Guest mode, your data is tied to your device and not backed up to an email or Google account unless you later add one.
You're responsible for keeping your email account and device secure, since that's how Okanora verifies it's you. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us and change your email password or revoke your sessions from Settings > Security > Manage sessions as soon as possible.
4. Your data and the license you give us
You own the data you put into Okanora — your checklists, budgets and notes. By using the app, you give us the permission we need to store, process and display that data back to you, and to share it with the service providers described in our Privacy policy, solely to run the app's features. We don't use your content for any other purpose.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Okanora for anything illegal, or to store or transmit content that isn't yours to share.
- Try to break, bypass, or interfere with Okanora's security, rate limits, or infrastructure.
- Use the service to harass, spam, or send someone else's personal or financial information without their permission, including through WhatsApp logging once it's available.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates this section.
6. WhatsApp logging and AI-assisted parsing
Okanora is planning a feature that reads a WhatsApp message you send and tries to turn it into a checklist entry automatically, using an AI provider to interpret the text. This feature is shown as "Coming soon" in the app today and is not yet available to use.
Once it launches: AI-based parsing can misread amounts, categories or descriptions. Always check what was logged before relying on it. Okanora is not responsible for financial decisions you make based on an AI-parsed entry you didn't review.
7. Not financial, tax, or legal advice
Okanora is a personal tracking tool. Nothing in the app is financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Always use your own judgment, or consult a qualified professional, before making financial decisions.
8. No bank connections, no money movement
Okanora does not connect to your bank accounts, does not initiate payments, and does not move money on your behalf. Everything you track in Okanora — bills, income, expenses — is entered manually or, once available, via a WhatsApp message you choose to send. Okanora is a record-keeping tool, not a payment or banking service.
9. Reminders are best-effort
Okanora sends reminders and notifications to help you stay on top of your bills. These are sent on a best-effort basis, using third-party push and email services. We don't guarantee that a reminder will arrive, or arrive on time — your device's notification settings, your email provider, and factors outside our control can all affect delivery. Don't rely on Okanora's reminders as your only safeguard against a missed payment.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We may change, add, remove, or temporarily suspend features of Okanora at any time, including features described in these Terms. We'll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where practical, but we don't guarantee the app will always be available without interruption.
11. Free plan today, and future changes
Okanora is currently free to use, with no paid plans, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. If we introduce a paid plan in the future, we'll announce it in advance, and we won't start charging you without your clear agreement.
12. Intellectual property
The Okanora app, its design, branding and code belong to its developer. These Terms don't grant you any rights to Okanora's intellectual property beyond using the app as intended. Your own content — the data you enter — remains yours, as described in Section 4.
13. Ending your use, or our suspending your account
You can stop using Okanora, or delete your account, at any time — see our Delete account page for how.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or if we reasonably believe continuing to provide the service to you would create a legal or security risk. Where practical, we'll try to notify you first.
14. Disclaimers
Okanora is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Okanora and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of income, or financial losses, arising from your use of the app — including from missed reminders, misread AI-parsed entries, or any decision you make based on information in the app. Because Okanora is free to use, our total liability to you, to the extent any liability remains after this limitation, is capped at zero.
16. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Okanora will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, India.
17. Dispute resolution
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at contact.okanora.app@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If we can't resolve it that way, it will be handled under the governing law and courts described above.
18. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change to these Terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and let you know through an in-app notice or by email, where reasonably possible. Continuing to use Okanora after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
